Yvonne M. Mickelson, 88 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 30, 1938, in La Crosse WI, the daughter of the late John and Annie (Tollackson) Ostrem. On October 8, 1960, she married Ronald Mickelson in Westby, WI.

Yvonne attended beauty school and later worked as a beautician for many years before working in custodial maintenance for the Kenosha Unified School District before her retirement.

She was a talented baker; Yvonne especially enjoyed baking lefse and various cookies (Ron’s favorite). She loved playing cards with family and friends, and taking trips to Las Vegas with Ron. Her most cherished moments were the times spent with her grandchildren; she would participate in any activities she could with them.

Survivors include her husband, Ron; children, Patti Mickelson, Scott (Beatriz) Mickelson, and Brian (Johanna) Mickelson; grandchildren, Ryan Mickelson, Samantha (Maxx) Mickelson-Welker, Benjamin Mickelson, Stephanie Mickelson, and Mackenzie Mickelson.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by siblings, Norma Eide, Verna Olsen, Maynard Ostrem and Rodney Ostrem.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home with a funeral service to commence at 5:00 P.M. Interment will be held in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Somers WI, Thursday August 20, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.
