Valerie Kay Kinney passed away with her family by her side on October 8, 2026, at Home Inspired Senior Living, Somers, WI.

She was born on May 20, 1942, to the late Valentine and Florence (Galiotti) Panka. She grew up in Kenosha, WI where she graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School, followed by Gateway Technical College. She went on to work as a medical assistant for Dr. Priti Patel for many years and later retired from Froedtert South Clinic, Kenosha, WI.

Valerie married Lawrence Frederick on February 13, 1965. They raised two amazing children, Beth and Tim. Lawrence preceded her in death on April 27, 1971. On August 22, 1998, Valerie married Thomas Kinney; with this marriage, her wonderful family grew, welcoming Teri and Tim. Thomas passed away on December 24, 2014.

Deep down she held many things close to heart, such as supporting her favorite sports teams, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Valerie was also an avid reader, spending her free time with her nose in a book. She also had a love for puzzle games, bowling with friends, and the peaceful time she spent fishing.

Valerie is survived by her daughters Beth (Bill) Pease and Teri (Trice) Barnett, sons Tim Frederick and Tim Kinney; grandsons Dustin (Lonnie) Barnett and Austin Barnett; great-grandchildren Lilly, Lilah, and Tommy Barnett; and sister Leslie (Carlos) Hernandez.

A memorial gathering will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home with a memorial service to commence at 12:00 noon. Committal services for Valerie and Thomas will follow in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.
