Robert Weidner, age 93, passed away peacefully at his residence, on September 27, 2026.
He was born in Kenosha on May 2, 1933, the son of the late Fred and Alice (Krah) Weidner. He was a 1950 graduate of Racine Lutheran High School.
Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from May 1953 through March 1955. During his service, he was stationed in Japan and Korea.
On May 25, 1957, Robert married the love of his life, Arlene Wheeler, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenosha, WI.
Robert dedicated 38 years of his working life to Outboard Marine Corporation, where he was employed until his retirement in April 1996. He was a member of Mt. Zion and New Life Evangelical Lutheran Churches where he served his Lord and Savior on many church committees, The Lutheran Boy Pioneers, and supporting roles with Shoreland Lutheran High School.
Robert enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, woodworking projects, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Steven (Cindy) Weidner of Kenosha, WI and Linda (Dan) Jorenby of Brooklyn Park, MN; six grandchildren, Jessica Simon, Rachael (Joseph) Greco and Melanie Weidner, Zachary (Taylor), Nicholas (Abby), and Tyler (Kasey) Jorenby; one sister, Louise Welke of Kenosha, WI; three sisters-in law Jeanette Weidner of Fleming, FL; Pamela Wheeler of Ridgefield, WA, and Mary Wheeler of McFarland, WI; two brothers-in-law, James Wheeler of Ridgefield, WA and Albert Wheeler of McFarland, WI.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and David Weidner; four sisters-in law, Gwendolyn Weidner, Naomi Wheeler, Sally Wheeler, June Pitcher; and four brothers-in-law Rudolph Welke, Donald Wheeler, Oliver Wheeler, Donald Pitcher.
Robert will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his church, and the many years he shared with those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
