Orlo Dale Glaman, passed away on September 11, 2026 and entered into the Lord’s hands and care. Orlo was born on February 19, 1934, in Almond, Wisconsin, to the late Louie and Vila (Abbott) Glaman.
At a dance at the Lakeside Lodge in Hancock, WI, Orlo bet his friend that he could dance with a certain girl, that girl’s name was Donna. He won that bet and as Orlo would say, “And we’ve been dancing ever since.” On August 11, 1956, Orlo married the love of his life, Donna Rathermel, and this year while holding hands they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Just a few months after they were married, Orlo proudly joined the United States Army. His military service was something he was deeply proud of and spoke about often throughout his life.
After returning from the Army, Orlo and Donna moved to Kenosha where together they built a life filled with love and raised four children. They became members of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and his faith guided him at home and while on the road. Orlo was an Over-the-Road truck driver and was recognized many times for his safe driving and displayed those honors proudly in his rec room. He relived many of the routes he drove for work with his family while on family vacations. After retiring, he continued working part time driving for companies in the area including Wisconsin Kenworth delivering new trucks and meeting the new owners. He enjoyed grilling out and created the family question of “who likes the burnt hot dogs”. He enjoyed a good Polka and looked like he was floating on air whenever he danced.
Orlo enjoyed watching his beloved Packers, Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and loved playing cards with friends. But more than anything he cherished his family. The time spent with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones brought him the greatest joy.
Orlo is survived by his beloved wife, Donna: his children, son Robert (Nancy) Glaman. daughters, Shelley (George) Morin, Sandy (Greg) Pelnar, and Tracy Glaman (Jeff Zastoupil) a dear companion and friend to Tracy and Orlo. His grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Glaman, Randy (Amanda) Morin, Ryan Morin, Alex Pelnar, Ariel (Richard) Wilson, and Emily Pelnar. His great grandchildren Aiden, Asher, Archer, Claire, Chloe, Carli, Leon, and Jett. Orlo is also survived by nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons at birth and his brothers Larry and Gordon (Pat) Glaman.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for the compassion and care given by the staff at Robin Way, especially Diana and Heather, and to the Hospice care team.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:30 P.M. on Monday September 28, 2026 at Proko Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
