Mary Rose Barnes, 86, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.
Mary was born on April 26, 1940, in Ontonagon, Michigan, to the late Leo Eder and Rose (Nygard) Eder.
In 1969, she married the love of her life, Dr. William Barnes, in Waukegan, Illinois. Together they shared many wonderful years until his passing.
Family was the heart of everything Mary did. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, playing cards, dining out with friends, and spending time with those she loved. Mary also had a generous heart and dedicated more than a decade of her life volunteering at the local Shalom Center Food Pantry, where she faithfully served her community with kindness and compassion.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Cliff (Carol) Barnes, Julie Marin, Michael (Chrystal) Barnes, and Jessica Barnes; her sister, Martha (Mark Olsen) Jocius; her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. William Barnes; her son, Kelly Barnes; her parents, Leo and Rose Eder; and her sister, Jeanette Kalio.
Mary will be remembered for her loving heart, selfless spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
