A Life Remembered

Obituary

Judith “Judi” A. Kruse-Dohrn, 80, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Lake Haven Memory Care.

Born in Kenosha, WI, on August 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late August Ponzio and Nancy C. (Vertz) Jensen Ponzio. She attended local schools.

Judi was employed as a hairdresser for 30 years, then at Abbott Laboratories for 20 years prior to her retirement.

On August 27, 2016, she married William “Bill” Dohrn.

In her younger years, Judi raised miniature horses and had one special horse, Annie that she loved dearly.

Judi later served as the Vice President of Kenosha’s Senior Center. She was instrumental in its program, bringing energy, organization, and a wonderful sense of fun. She will always be remembered for her playful spirit. She would dress up as a leprechaun, an elf, or Santa, whatever the season warranted.

Judi is survived by her husband, Bill Dohrn of Kenosha, WI; son, James Kruse; six grandchildren, Kimber Kazin (Kruse), Ray Kruse, Kyle Carpenter, James Kruse, Andrew Wathen, Haleigh Kruse and many great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jodi Kruse.

A visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park will immediately follow.
