Sandra R. Petri, 77, of Kenosha, peacefully joined her beloved husband and loving Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at NHC Healthcare in Bluffton, SC. Born on June 14, 1939, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rachel (Okerbloom) Schmidt. She attended the schools of Chicago and graduated from Jones Commercial High School. On June 16, 1962, she married Alfred R. Petri in Chicago. In 1964 Sandra and her husband, Alfred, moved to Salem, WI, to make their home. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2007. She had been employed by the Chicago Journeyman Plumbers Union Local #130, Schultz Litho in Chicago, Advanced Ambulance in Kenosha, and Mikasa in Pleasant Prairie. After her retirement she volunteered for Meals On Wheels and various senior programs in Kenosha County. Surviving are her two children, Bradley R. (Tonya) Petri of Alabama and Valerie N. Kovach of Minnesota; two granddaughters, Tana Petri and Gretchen Petri; and two sisters, Karen Reinhard of South Carolina and Eileen Habel of Wisconsin. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur James Schmidt. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18th, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
