Mary Zelenski, 86, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016, at St. Joseph Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Pleasant Prairie on May 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Knezek) Gomaz, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Prairie and attended Whittier Elementary School and Lincoln Middle School. For over 34 years Mary was employed by AMC/Chrysler Corp. until her retirement on August 30, 1985. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home and participating in the many activities there. Mary is survived by her daughter, Cindy L. (LeRoy) Weaver of Pleasant Prairie; a granddaughter, JeriLynn (Robert) Hurley; a grandson, Benjamin Hurley; and a sister, Elsie Brown of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Gomaz, Sr. in 1998, Samuel Gomaz, Sr. in 1988, Thomas Gomaz in 2005, Elias Gomaz in 2002 and Jacob Gomaz, Jr. in 2005. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13th, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
