Irene M. Gallo, 96, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Brookside Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cosenza, Italy, on August 31, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria (Gervino) Carravetta. In June of 1952 she married Ralph A. Gallo in Italy and then moved to America. Ralph preceded her in death on March 8, 1990. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and enjoyed being a home maker and taking care of her family. Surviving Irene are her six children, Albert Gallo, Rose (Robert) Nelson, Gino (Jacqueline) Gallo, John (Caroline) Gallo, Joseph (Lorena) Gallo and Dino Gallo, all of Kenosha; 20 grandchildren especially the three she helped raise Marci, Marissa and Andrea; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Victoria Belmonte of Kenosha. She is preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Ronald Gallo; three daughters-in-law, Margaret, Beverly and Linda Gallo; eight siblings; and one grandchild. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Giuseppe Garretto, the staff at Brookside care center and Hospice Alliance for the wonderful care given to our mother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 8th, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
