John M. Rasch, 47, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at home with his loving and devoted family by his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born December 16, 1968, he was the youngest son to the late John and Beatrice (McClusky) Rasch. He attended local schools of Jeffrey, Lance and Tremper High School graduating in 1987. On September 24, 1994, he married the love of his life, Kim Pynaker. They later had their most wonderful and greatest achievement, their son Andrew John in 2002. John was employed by Kenosha Water Utility for the last 14 years, most recently as Director of Distribution. Prior to that he worked for Park Supply Heating & Cooling. John graduated from University of Parkside in June 2013 with a degree in Bachelor of Science while working full time, and busy with home life. This was a great accomplishment, and a testament to his hard work ethic. His favorite hobby was hockey. He loved getting together to play ice hockey at Kenosha Ice Rink for the last 25 years. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and boater, which he loved introducing to his son, Andrew. He was also coach for many years for his son’s t-ball through youth baseball leagues. He enjoyed many Boy Scout outings with his son. John also enjoyed teaching Andrew his deep love of music, he and Andrew played trombones, entertaining at many family gatherings. John loved Sunday football games and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers and Chicago Blackhawks fan. John will be deeply missed and loved by many. His wife, Kim and son, Andrew of Pleasant Prairie, sister, Karen (Tim) Wendling, and brothers Ken (Laura), Dave (Patricia) and Michael Rasch. He is also survived by in-laws, Marv & Diane Pynaker, sister & brother-in-law, Sherry & Mike Ebener, dear Aunt & Uncle Joan & Dale Ekkela and cousins. He also leaves behind many nieces & nephews: Jennifer Zolper (Juan Reyes), Megan Rasch, Kevin Rasch, Ryan (Katie) Zolper, Steven Rasch, Lauren Rasch, Jacob Ebener, Jared Ebener, Alison Rasch, Kayla Rasch, Erin Rasch, Matt Wendling, Sara Rasch, and great niece, Mikayla Zolper. John will further be missed by his extended family from KWU and Kenosha Ice and many, many loving & caring friends, including longtime best friend Mike Long. Also, left behind is his canine companion, Hunter. John was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Kaitlyn Zolper, and his parents, John & Beatrice Rasch. The family would like to thank the nurses at Hospice Alliance, Dr. Malik Bandealy & Aurora Cancer Care nurse team, Dr. Paul Ritch (Froedtert) and staff and nurses in the Tru-Clinic.
