Jean Mary Ramsdell, 82, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Hospice House with her family at her side. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Russell and Jeanetta (Vanbendegom) Decker. She was educated in the schools of Philadelphia before coming to Kenosha in 1946 to make her home. On April 15, 1961, she married Robert Ramsdell at St. Therese Catholic Church. Jean had been employed as a secretary in the Engineering Dept. of Nash Motors/American Motors, retiring in 1953. For over 53 years she was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Christian Mothers of the Church, St. Therese Altar Society and a volunteer at St. Catherine’s Hospital for many years. Surviving are her husband, Robert of Kenosha; three sisters-in-law, Joan (Frank) Main, Benell Ramsdell and Marga Ramsdell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jay Decker. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 18th, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 9005-22nd Avenue, Kenosha, WI, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
