Donald N. Peterson, 88, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie surrounded by his children. He was born in Kenosha on October 18, 1927, the son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Cretney) Peterson. Don was educated in the schools of Kenosha and joined the U.S. Army in 1946 where he achieved Staff Sargent with the 835 ordinance division and later honorably discharged in 1948. In 1951 he married Esther Costable and was blessed with four children. They later divorced. In 1978 he married Patricia Kamin; she preceded him in death in 2008. Don was employed by The Sherwin Williams and Glidden Paint Company as a commercial paint representative. He also owned and operated Olympic Launderama from 1960-1980. He enjoyed all outdoor activities especially camping, fishing, hunting and spending time at his Northern Wisconsin cabin. Surviving Don are his four children, Thomas Peterson, Gary Peterson and Kim Meldahl, all of Kenosha and Lynn Treptow of Fredonia; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, William T. Peterson of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Jolly and Betty Conway; son-in-law, Charles F. Meldahl; and his grandson, Charles J. “Chuckie” Meldahl.
