Edith A. Henry, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016, at her residence. She was born in the town of Bladworth, a providence of Saskatchewan, Canada, on July 9, 1924, the daughter of the late Rexford and Clara Swartz. She was educated in the schools of Augusta, WI, and graduated from Augusta High School in 1942. On October 22, 1945, she married Donald J. Henry in Augusta, WI; they moved to Kenosha, WI, in 1956. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1997. Edith was a bank teller with Johnson Bank for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, baking, trying new recipes and going to church where she was a member of the Tuesday’s Woman’s Circle and attending the senior center where she enjoyed exercising with her friends. Surviving Edith are her children, Reese W. (Karen) Henry of Springville, CA, and Janet M. (James Sr.) Pederson of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a brother, Noel (Carol) Swartz of Eau Claire, WI. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; and her son, Bruce. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday, May 16th, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 4600 60th Street, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery.
