Henry G. “Hank” Sublisky, 89, of Kenosha, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Hank was born in Oconto, WI, the son of the late John and Viola Sublisky. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, educated in the local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. As a member of the United States Marine Corps during WWII, Hank participated in the Occupation of Japan and China. For 62 years Hank was united in marriage to Crystal (Scherer). They were married on September 26, 1953, at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Crystal was the love of his life; the two of them were inseparable. When he was a young man Hank started his own business, Hanks Trenching. Later he and his wife opened Crystal Lane Green House. Hank and Crystal had a great passion for trapping and it is said that their honeymoon was spent trapping. During their marriage Hank built three beautiful homes which he was very proud of. Into his 80’s Hank was still out trapping. He not only loved to trap he also loved to teach others the skill and techniques to be successful. Hank was a tireless promoter of the sport, both he and Crystal where inducted into the Wisconsin Trapping Association Hall of Fame. Together he and Crystal started leading District 11 W.T.A. and with their leadership it became a huge success. Survivors include his wife, Crystal; his “adopted” daughters, Amy Tremmel and “Ma” Carolyn Marquardt; and his beloved cat, Jilly. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, Jerry Sinnen; cousins, Marilyn (Tom) McNabb, Keith (June) Grady and Jill (Mike) Capser; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christa Ungerleider and Sandra Chapman from the V.A. in Union Grove. A memorial service will be held for Hank on Saturday, April 2nd, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors to follow. Hank will be laid to rest at a later date in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Hank’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Hank and Crystal, Crystal and Hank! We have always used the names together like salt and pepper, bread and butter. Our hearts are hurting for you Crystal. We pray that you will be comforted by the many wonderful and happy memories of days gone by. The trapping community in general and the Wisconsin Trappers Association in particular have gained so much from the knowledge, generosity, stories and laughter you and Hank so readily shared. He left us with many happy memories and will be greatly missed.
