Susan M. Meyer, 82, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Azura Memory Care surrounded by her loving family. Born on the family farm in Somers on July 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Theresa (Fonk) Funk. Susan was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. On August 7, 1954, she married Henry H. “Hank” Meyer at Frieden's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2004. Susan was formerly employed with Cloud Nine in Waukegan, Holleb’s in Kenosha and then helped with the family business, L&M Meats, for several years. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she would often volunteer her time helping with church activities. She also would volunteer with Hospice Alliance, enjoyed baking cookies and loved to visit with her family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Keith (Kathy) Meyer of Kenosha, and Ken (Mari) Meyer of Twin Lakes; a daughter, Lynda (Mike) Dix of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Hanni (Aaron) Gould, Cori (Chris) Myers, Joel Meyer, Lucas Dix, Kaylee (Pablo) Maya, Anna Dix, Jarad Meyer and Jenna Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Carson, Lilyana and Royce; and three sisters, Tess (Chuck) Bach, Rita (Dick) Norlander and Dolores Luebke, all of Kenosha. Preceding her in death were five brothers, Clifford, Norman, Everett, Louis and Arlo Funk; and three sisters, Leona Hart, Ethel Dase and Hazel Wilkomm. Susan’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Azura Memory Care and Hospice Alliance for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave her. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14h, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. To the Meyer Family I am sorry for your loss. It is difficult when someone we love passes away. We still have our special memories to help us cope. May 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 where it says that God is always there to comfort us comfort you. I pray this helps you and your family find peace.

So very saddened by Sue's passing. I always enjoyed working with her at L&M. She was a beautiful, kind hearted person. I like to think I learned a lot from her. My condolences to her family. God Bless!!!
