Robert E. Brenneman

Robert E. “Bob” Brenneman, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jerome, PA, on August 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Sipple) Brenneman. He was educated in the schools of Jerome and moved to Kenosha in 1960. Bob served in the United States Navy as a bugler 1st class. He received the Asiatic Pacific ribbon with 1 star, American Area ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. On May 25, 1949, he married Lucille M. Frampton in Winchester, VA. Bob was employed as an electrical engineer with Commonwealth Edison in Waukegan, IL, for 38 years. He was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1961 where he would volunteer for several of the ministry help programs such as the soup kitchen, INNS Program, CUSH and AAL. In high school he was on the wrestling team and was also a former member of the Masons in Gurnee, IL. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 1865 and loved to hunt, fish, watch football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and held his private pilot license. Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Kenosha; four children, Debra (Robert) Spain of Stockbridge, WI, Raymond (Linda) Brenneman of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Sandra (Jerry) Wiles of Wausau, WI, and Denise (David) Feivor of Cottage Grove, WI; a brother, Richard (Judy) Brenneman of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; and 7 step great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis “Jiggs” and Kenneth; a son-in-law, James Schmunck; a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Rae Cowan; and a step grandson, Dale J. Harper. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, March 5th, at Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
