Evelyn M. “Evie” Rogan, 94, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Home Inspired Assisted Living in Somers. She was born on January 1, 1922, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Fortune) Richards. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended St. James Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Kenosha High School. On August 14, 1943, at St. James Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Elmer J. “Red” Rogan. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1994. Evie was formerly employed by National Tea Co., Reeds Drug Store, Coca-Cola Company and Kenosha Hospital until retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and St. James Women’s Alter Society. Evie enjoyed knitting afghans and gardening. Surviving are her two daughters, Kathleen (Ronald) Barr of Glendora, CA, and Gail (David) Hart of Kenosha; a brother, Paul (Pat) Richards of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Rick) Hansen, Kelly (Paul) Anderson, Kyle (Carolynn) Hart and Ryan (Dana) Hart; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry “Hank” Richards; and a sister, Helen M. Engstrom. Evie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kevin and Victoria Metz and all the amazing staff at Home Inspired Senior Living for their excellent and compassionate care given to their mother. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, January 26th, relatives and friends are asked to meet at St. James Catholic Church, 5804 Sheridan Road, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
