Bradley W. Jewell, 48, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 28, 2015, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. Born in Kenosha on August 4, 1967, he was the son of Carrie Jewell. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools and a 1985 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. On August 23, 1989, he married Denise René Fleming in Florida. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2011. Brad was a manufacturing supervisor for over 20 years; later he began his radio career as a personality in Chicago on WKQX-FM/Q101, well known as “Kenosha Brad.” He was currently a radio host for a sports talk show “Jewell On Sports” with WLIP-AM. Through his presence on the radio, he was able to be very active with cancer fundraising, both in Chicago and Kenosha. He loved anything sports and was very active with CYC/Boys and Girls Club, coaching football, basketball, baseball, and was even named “Family Of The Year” in 1998. Survivors include his children: Daniel Jewell of Kenosha, Samantha Jewell of Richmond Hill, GA, and Jeffrey Jewell of Kenosha; his mother, Carrie Jewell of Kenosha; his fiancée, Lisa Scott of Kenosha; and five grandchildren. He is further survived by his four dogs and his many, many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2nd, at Proko Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Brad was a friend of our son Jim. We remember him well. Also had an occasion to see him at some of our grandchildren's baseball games. A great kid and a great guy. We want to extend our sympathies to his family. He will be sorely missed.
