Warren Olden

1958 ∼ 2015

Warren Olden, 57, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015, at his residence with his family at his side. Born in Washington, D.C. on February 17, 1958, he was the son of the late William Olden, Sr. and Elizabeth (Ball) Olden. Warren attributes much of his success to serving in the United States Navy. He was active duty from 1978–1983 and then enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1983–1991. His training as a Hospital Corpsman and Pharmacy Technician in the Navy opened many doors for him. Warren went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, and a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Strassford University in London, England. On May 19, 2001, Warren was united in marriage to Jennifer Botts in Schaumburg, IL. Warren was a Category Manager for Pharmacy in Strategic Sourcing through Walgreens in which he negotiated pharmaceutical-related contracts. He attended the First Baptist Church of Marengo, IL, and was baptized on March 1, 2015. Warren enjoyed music, singing, cooking, sports, movies, artwork and spending time with his children. He was known for his bright smile, infectious laugh, charisma and passion for life. He was a leading example of determination, perseverance and strength. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Olden of Kenosha; his five children, Ganelle Olden of Carrollton, TX, Shalandra (Chad) Prather of Lombard, IL, and Simone, Samantha and Sophia Olden, all of Kenosha; three sisters, Geraldine (Cecil) Maccannon, Janie L. Olden and Mary E. Olden Smith; two brothers, Gregory Olden and Ronald Olden; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ball; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rufus Ball and William Olden, Jr.; and a sister, Cecelia Montgomery. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home, with full military honors following. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services at Proko Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First Baptist Church, 320 East Washington Street, Marengo, IL 60152, would be appreciated by the family. An interment ceremony will be held the following day, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI 53182.
