Gaetana “Donna” Pontillo, 75, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie with her family by her side. She was born on July 26, 1940 the daughter of the late John A. and Virginia (Vena) Volpentesta. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Therese School of Nursing in 1961. In 1991, she married the love of her life, Anthony N. Pontillo in Kenosha. She worked for Kenosha Medical Center for six years and was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home to raise her two boys. She returned to long term care nursing, retiring from Brookside Care Center in 2001 as Assistant Director to Nurses. She is survived by her husband, Anthony N. Pontillo; her sons, Michael J. (Lael) Piehl, John R. (Renee) Piehl, Anthony J. (Sandy) Pontillo and Scott A. (Jane) Pontillo; her sister, Carole J. (Robert) Schmidt; grandchildren, Caleb and Vanessa Piehl, Solomon, Elias and Jada Jane Pontillo; Tyler Pontillo and Nicolle (Kevin Larsen) Kitt; and great-grandson, Charlie Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Daniel Kitt. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
