George H. Pinzger sr
George H. Pinzger, Sr., 95, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Sheridan Medical Complex. He was born in Kenosha on December 5, 1919, the son of the late George and Anna (Bleicher) Pinzger. George married Alice Serpe on November 15, 1941, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She preceded him in death in 1970. In 1971 he married Dorothy Corey and she preceded him in death in 1997. George entered the United States Army Air Corp 785th Bombardment Squadron on December 23, 1942, at Fort Sheridan. He was honorably discharged on September 21, 1945. George worked at Macwhyte Wire Rope Company and retired from there after over 40 years of service. While at Macwhyte he organized and was president of UAW Local 960. George’s political career included being an alderman and school board member. In retirement he worked for the Kenosha News as a security guard, and ushered for the Kenosha Twins. He was a huge baseball fan and coached Dick Bosman as a youth. George is survived by his three children, Georgeann (Jim) Metallo, Tom (Marilyn) Pinzger and George (Jackie) Pinzger, Jr. He is further survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his niece, Charlene Polanski. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; a daughter, Mary Louise; granddaughter, Tina Metallo-Gjerdset; his brothers, Clarence, Robert and Ralph; and a sister, Esther Rose.
