Sylvia Eleanor Jorgensen, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 24, 2014. Born on October 19, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sigurd and Kathrina (Borresen) Hansen. Ellie served our Veteran’s faithfully for decades as an RN at Brooklyn Veterans’ Hospital. She was a member of the Brooklyn Metropolitan Baptist Church and a regular attendee of Kenosha Bible Church while residing in Kenosha. She and her husband Walter had two sons, James “Jimbo” (Cindy) and Peter “Pete” (Pat). After the Vietnam War they adopted four refugee children, Phong, Tien, Cun and Lieda who were there pride and joy. They leave behind three grandchildren Thomas (Victoria) Jorgensen, Kathrina (Micah) Montondo and Riika Jorgensen, great-grandchildren, wonderful memories and life lessons. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
