Steven “Steve” Carrier, 61, of Pleasant Prairie, formerly of Waukegan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center. Born on January 25, 1953, in Highwood, IL, he was the son of William Robert and Doris “Jean” (Hindes) Carrier. He graduated from Waukegan High School and earned his Associates Degree from Lake Forest School of Management. On May 4, 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia “Patti” McMahon in Waukegan. They were married over 40 years. They moved to Pleasant Prairie in 2007. He was employed as the VP of Operations at American Metal Technologies for the last 12 years. Steve was active with Ducks Unlimited, as well as a member of the NRA, Dark Acres, Wauconda Sportsman Club, and Pheasants Forever. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and also a shareholder. He volunteered for his daughter’s ice skating team and at St. Joseph’s High School. He was always generous with his time and enjoyed helping those around him. Steve’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends, most importantly time up north. He had so many wonderful memories of fishing and hunting with his brothers and nephews. His family and friends were truly the light of his life. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Patti of Pleasant Prairie; his adoring daughter, Breanne (Vince Capelli) Carrier of Kenosha; his mother, Doris “Jean” Carrier of Wadsworth, IL; two brothers, Larry (Sharon) Carrier of Gurnee, IL, and Wayne (Melanie) Carrier of Kenosha; his sister-in-law, Mary McMahon from Celebration, FL; his nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own children, Thomas (Veronica) McMahon III, Sarah (Carlos) Berrios, John (Meghan) Carrier, Jeff (Jennifer) Carrier and Lori Carrier; and great nieces and great nephews, Kylie Carrier, Ethen Berrios, Emmy and Violet McMahon, Amelie Carrier and Mason Berrios. He is further survived by other beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Carrier; his daughter, Erin Jean; his in-laws, Thomas and Beverley McMahon; and his brother-in-law, Thomas McMahon, Jr. Prayers will be held from Proko Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1st, at 8:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago.
