Walter A.O. Jabs, 85, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at his home. Born on December 11, 1928, in Perham, MN, he was the son of the late Albert and Minnie Jabs. He came to Kenosha in 1952 and on March 29, 1952, he married Dolores Holzhuter at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. Walter was employed at Chicago Northwestern Transport Company as a ticket salesman for 37 years. He attended, and received a diploma from, the Wisconsin Telegraph Institute in Kenosha in 1955, which is one of his proudest accomplishments. Walter also served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in January of 1961. Surviving are his son, Thomas (Karen) Jabs of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Joshua (Amy), Jason and Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony. Walter is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29th, at Bethany Lutheran Church at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
