Dorothy Frechette

1939 ∼ 2014

Dorothy Louise Frechette, 75, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at her residence. She was born Dorothy L. Soman on August 31, 1939, on the Menominee Indian reservation in Neopit, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Vernie Waubano. While in high school on the reservation, Dorothy met her future husband, Pershing “Yogi” Frechette. They were united in marriage on February 27, 1960. They moved to Kenosha to start their family, where she then was employed at Walgreens for the next 30 years. Dorothy treasured all of her special time spent with her husband, and lived with a heavy heart after losing him in 2008. She cherished all of their precious memories together, especially spending time with her children and watching their four granddaughters in their many sports and school functions. The memory of her life and many accomplishments will live on with sons, Patrick (Janine) of Kenosha and Michael of Antioch, IL; daughter, Mindy (Jeff) Thomas of Kenosha; four granddaughters, Taylor, Elliott, Cassandra, and Alexa; and one great-granddaughter, Arian. A memorial gathering will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, she will return to her native land and waters where there will be a private memorial with her family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Dorothy’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
