George T. Paulus
George T. Paulus, 65, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Barron County, WI, on April 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marcella (Mykyska) Paulus. George moved down to the Kenosha area in 1989. On December 18, 2004, he married Susan Fliess in Kenosha. George was employed as an aerial supervisor and foreman with Northwest Cable Construction for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and loved antique tractors, farming, fishing, hunting, animals and listening to old country music. Most of all, he will be remembered for the way he always would help anyone who asked. Survivors include his wife, Susan of Kenosha; four children, Shannon (Tim) Roycraft of Fall Creek, WI, Rhianon (Corey) Engelbrecht of Kenosha, Jacob Smith of Kenosha and Rachel (David Eckert) Smith of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Chenoa, Montana, Ethan and Lorelai; two brothers, Greg (Sue) Paulus and Gerald (Kellee) Paulus, both of Rice Lake, WI; two sisters, Florence Schmidt of Two Rivers, WI, and Christine Faschingbauer of Bloomer, WI; his father-in-law, Thomas W. Fliess, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carla Hempel, Thomas (Cherie) Fliess, Jr., Nancy (Jimmy) DiBiase, Richard Fliess and Shirley (Darren) Olson; as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Joshua W. Smith; a nephew, James Paulus; his mother-in-law, Alice Fliess; and a “brother”, Ronald Grenier. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mariani, Dr. Jarzembowski, and the entire staff in the St. Catherine’s Medical Center ICU for all of the kind and considerate care they gave George. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 4th, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126-95th Street, Sturtevant, WI, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Paris, WI. I will miss George. I have known him for about 12 years. He was a dependable person in the winter for snow plowing.He had plowed the parking lot at the River West Shopping Center in Milwaukee as long as I worked there, 12 years.We enjoyed the company of each other and often to each other stories.He will be missed by many people.Gods blessing on the family and friends that will miss him.
