Matthew D. “Matt” Royce, 30, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at his home. Born in Lake Forrest, IL, on May 27, 1984, he was the son of Daniel and Jennifer (McCarley) Royce. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Matt was employed with the Iron Workers Local 8 in Milwaukee for the last ten years. He played baseball and football when he was younger and enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son. Survivors include his son, Tyler Matthew Colon of Kenosha; his parents, Daniel and Jennifer Royce of Kenosha; three siblings, Emily Royce and twins Leah and Bradley Royce, all of Kenosha; his paternal grandmother, Marian Royce of Pleasant Prairie; maternal grandmother, Nancy McCarley of Beach Park, IL; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Royce; and his maternal grandfather, Louis McCarley. Private services were held.
