Richard Kent Ravens, 69, passed away May 12, 2014. Kent, the oldest of the 3 children of Paul and Angela Ravens, was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He excelled in school and was extremely talented in art. He graduated from West High School and Wichita State University. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Ravens and his parents. He is survived by his children, Cynthia (Kris) Deming of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard (Amy) Sparkman of Las Vegas, Nevada, Daniel Ravens of Trevor, Wisconsin and Christina (John) Bridges of Westmoreland, New Hampshire; sisters, Anita Ravens of Bel Aire, Kansas and Linnea (Stephen) Glotzbach of Valley Center, Kansas. Eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Tara, Jeremy, Rick, Penny, Eleanor, and Ruth (born May 18, 2014). Kent was the lead artist at the former Advertiser in Antioch, and since that time has been self-employed at Creative Communications 2000 (including the Tax Guy). Kent was a longtime friend of many in the community and was always available to help and lend a helping hand. His heart was truly that of a servant’s heart. He was a long time member and attender of CrossView Church (formerly Antioch Evangelical Free Church in Antioch). Having served his church faithfully over 25 plus years he also was the Financial Secretary (along with Linda for much of that time). His devotion to his friends and family were secondary to his love and devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family will be holding a memorial service for Kent on June 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at CrossVeiw Church in Antioch, IL. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make donations may do so to the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Richard’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
