Fran M. Lawell-Wheeler, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. Born in Kenosha on January 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ann (Schaufel) Mengo. On January 14, 1989, she married Charles Wheeler in Kenosha. She worked as a Freelance Interpreter for the deaf. Fran was a member of the Moose Lodge 286. She enjoyed spending time with her children and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Butch"; six children, Larry (Kim) Lawell of Kenosha, Dennis (Josie Bergdoll) Lawell of Walworth, Christopher (Adriana) Lawell of Kenosha, George Wheeler of Fox Lake, Scott Sorensen of Kenosha and Warren Allen of Menomonee Falls; five grandchildren; and two sisters. Fran was preceded in death by her son, James W. Lawell Jr., one sister and one brother. Visitation will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Monday, May 5th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon.
