Jane M. Field

Jane Manion Field passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with Multiple Symptom Atrophy (MSA). Jane was 73 years old. Jane was born in Utica, New York, on Armistices Day – November 11, 1940, in honor of her father, a veteran of WWI. She was the youngest child of the late John H. Manion and Ruth Winn Manion. She attended St. Francis De Sales High School and was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. Jane was married to E. John Field on January 12, 1963, in the Church of the Sacred Heart in Utica, NY. John was the love of her life for the 50 years and 364 days they were married. During their marriage, they lived in Utica, NY, Portsmouth, VA, Mequon, WI, Hudson, OH, and finally retiring to Pleasant Prairie, WI, in 2003. Jane began her nursing career at Children’s Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Utica, New York. In Virginia, Jane worked at Maryview Hospital, General Electric, and finally with James W. Baker, DDS. Jane had many passions in her life including her loving family and friends. Jane and John came to hand-crafting seasonal gifts late in life. As John would cut out each Santa, bunny, or pumpkin, Jane would hand paint each into a magical figure. Many, many, women collected her hand-painted Santas. Jane leaves behind her precious husband Ervin John Field, her children John (Annette) Field and grandson Jonathan of Portsmouth, VA, and Jeannine Field (Cyndi Steinich) of Kenosha, WI, and an older sister Mary (Michael) Edicola, of Clearwater, FL. Jane was very close to each of her sisters-in law: Nancy Tencza (John) Manion, Patricia Field (Dick) Moore, and Marcia Field (Bob) Witte, all of the Utica, NY area. She is survived by numerous others relatives and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her brother, John C. Manion, of New Hartford, New York. Jane and her family would like to give a special thanks to the caring team from Heartland Hospice, who helped her make her last journey with dignity and peace. Particular thanks to Carlie, Tammy, Amy, Tiffany, Carol, Kathleen, and Gail. And Dr. James Bury and his staff with Paddock Lake Medical Practice. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hartland Hospice, 9114-58th Place, Kenosha, WI, 53144 would be appreciated. A funeral service will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Tuesday January 14th, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. A funeral Mass will be held in her home town at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro, NY.
