May E. Soderberg

May E. Soderberg, 89, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013, at Manor Care surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1924, in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophie (Ruppel) Mertz. On January 26, 1946, she married David H. Soderberg in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1990. For many, many years she was a cook for the Kenosha Unified School System. May was a member of Somers Community Church and was a Charter Member of American Legion David Leet Post 552. She really enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed snowmobiling and taking bus trips with her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Jack Soderberg of Mukwonago, WI, and Jim (Alice) Soderberg of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Kurtis, Nathan, Damon and Rachel; two great-grandchildren, Kloe and Tanner; and a sister, Violet (Wilmer) Specht of Ripon, WI. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
