Helen “Didge” Lilley, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19th at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.Born on January 6, 1923 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Helen (Arneson) Lilley. She was a graduate of St. James Elementary School, Kenosha High School and Marquette University where she earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees. She later attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO for graduate study, majoring in Philosophy.Prior to retirement, Didge was employed by the Kenosha News and she also had taught school in Iowa and at St. Louis University. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Didge had many interests throughout life- including photography, electronics, chemistry experiments, botany- in later years (80’s) walked nature paths in Milwaukee and identified plants, grasses, etc.- memorizing their botanical names. She also volunteered at Bong.She is survived by her cousins. She had a very special and supportive friendship with Gloria Arneson, wife of Dick Arneson.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on Thursday, August 22nd at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be greatly appreciated.
