Joan Rose Stachon

Joan Rose Stachon, 82, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus with her family at her side. Born in Kenosha on September 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Carl M. and Viola (Jirtle) Koessl. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. In 1950 she married Lawrence E. Stachon. They raised four children together and later divorced. Joan was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She enjoyed Ballroom and Square dancing, singing, gardening, bowling, baseball, swimming and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include three children, David (Charlotte) Stachon of Kenosha, Mark (Thina) Stachon of Arizona, and Dianne (Roy) Palmen of Kenosha; two brothers, Robert (Lynette) Koessl of Canton, MI, and Wayne (Patricia) Koessl; a sister, Vivian Applegate; five grandchildren, Sarah Stachon, Rachael (Rob) Holbach, Ryan Stachon, Amanda Palmen, and Arlen Palmen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Michael (Janet) Stachon; a sister, Loraine (Frank) Struss; and two brothers, Russ (Florence) Koessl and Carl Koessl, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
