Mary Anne Lloyd

Mary Anne Lloyd, 86, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. She was born in Terre Haute, IN, on July 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Marion and Mary (Rohm) Hollingsworth. She was a graduate of Elkhart High School in Elkhart, IN, and later received her nursing training from Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, CO, as part of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. As a registered nurse, Mary Anne practiced in various states, coming to Kenosha in 1971. She worked for the Kenosha Visiting Nurses Association until her retirement in 1988. On September 1, 1947, she married Myron L. Griffin and was divorced in 1957. On September 10, 1958, she was married to Barry H. Lloyd at the United Methodist Church in Denver, CO. Mary Anne was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Kenosha, and a member of the Kenosha Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served a term as Regent. She was an accomplished spinner and a member the Chiwaukee Fiber Guild. Surviving her are her children, Patrick Griffin of Kenosha, Christopher Griffin of Kenosha, Katharine Lloyd of Kailua, HI, and Thomas Lloyd of Montevideo, Uruguay; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Zeb, Lori Beth, Zachary, Jenny, Stephanie, Vanessa, Nate, and Molly; three great-grandchildren, Julian, Mary Anne Elizabeth, and Rosie; her brother, Rohm V. Hollingsworth of Homosassa Springs, FL; and her longtime companion, Donald Lehmann. She was preceded in death by her husband Barry in 1997 and daughter Beth Jane Griffin in 1955. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8th, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Kenosha at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
