Alfred F. “Al” DeCesaro, 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on May 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Frank “Mike” and Caroline F. (Felice) DeCesaro. A lifelong Kenosha resident, he was educated in local schools, graduating from Kenosha High School. On September 20, 1990, he married Doreen Leadley at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Al worked as a wholesale liquor salesman with Lakeshore Distributing in Racine for many years, retiring in 1995. He owned and operated The Dog House tavern and several shoe stores. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was a longtime Green Bay Packer season ticket holder. Survivors include his wife, Doreen of Kenosha; a son, Frank (Sandra) DeCesaro of Racine; four step children, David Otto of Caledonia, WI, Lizz Otto-Cramer of Racine, Bonnie Vaughan of Tomahawk, WI, and Dick (Pat) Bezotte of Arkansas; a sister Claire Sinise of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Nancy (Jason) Slowik and Michael DeCesaro; a great-grandchild, Jacob Slowik; and five step grandchildren, Alex Otto, Danielle Otto, Scott Hoffman, Karlie Hoffman, and Wolfgang Cramer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Jo DeCesaro; a brother, Louis DeCesaro; two sisters, Adeline Caravette and Olivia “Lee” Pellegrino; and a step son, Reggie Bezotte. A memorial service will be held this Friday, July 13th, at Proko Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
