Vienna M. Serpe, 101, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Brookside Care Center after a brief illness. Vienna was born on December 2, 1910, in Wilpen, PA, the daughter of James and Ermina Firmani. Shortly after her birth, the family moved back to their homeland in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. After a five year stay, they returned to the United States settling in Kenosha where she has lived until her passing. On June 11, 1932, Vienna married Anthony Serpe of Kenosha. Her husband preceded her in death in 1992. Vienna was briefly employed at the Allen A. Hosiery Company. After leaving the company, she became a homemaker raising their four children. Vienna’s passion was cooking and providing a quality life for her family. Surviving are her four children, Janice (Dino) Paielli, Anthony (Ann) Serpe, Michael (Nancy) Serpe and Barbara (Jack) Lane. Also surviving are a sister, Erma (Gus) Langer; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Vienna was preceded in death by brothers, Paris, Joseph and Peter Firmani; and two sisters, Albertina Brookhouse and Victoria Pacetti. A private service will be held for the family with interment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vienna’s name may be made to Brookside Care Center, 3506 Washington Road, Kenosha, WI 53144, or Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Village Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
