Michael T. Thome, Sr., 90, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center. He was born in Spalding, NE, on August 8, 1921, the son of the late Harry Arthur and Marie (Murphy) Thome. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea, earning a Korean Service Medal and U.N. Medal. After his tours of duty he served as a reservist. On December 2, 1941, he married Margaret Viola Peterson at St. James Catholic Church. The couple made Kenosha their home. Michael was employed by AMC/Chrysler as a supervisor for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing semi pro baseball as a young man and later coaching little league. He loved taking his wife Margaret out dancing to Big Band music and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs Fan. Surviving Michael are his wife, Margaret; his son, Michael (Rose) Thome, Jr. of Kenosha; three daughters, Peggy Cooper of Kenosha, Patti Franzen of Berlin, WI, and Debbie Pagliaroni of Canton, MI; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie McManus of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty LaPorte; and brother, Jim Thome. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
