Gerald "Jerry" Tryban, Sr., 79, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Born on July 29, 1932, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Thomas and Charlotte (Brodowski) Tryban. On July 12, 1951, he married Janet Schuette in West Allis, WI at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Jerry served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Div. until he was honorably discharged in 1953. Jerry was the owner/operator of Southport Machinery and Erection until his retirement. He was a member of Millwright Union 161, Lifetime E.A.A., and an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Boy Scouts. He loved spending time at his cabin up north, fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Janet of Pleasant Prairie; five children, Jean (Timothy) Aker and Judy (Rick) Rubenzer, both of Pleasant Prairie, Jeff (Dianne) Tryban of Kenosha, Joanne (Ron) Widi of Green Bay, WI, and Jim Tryban of Trevor; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Tryban, Jr. on May 4, 2009. A memorial service will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 11th, at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
