Norman H. Baggs, 83, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. He was born on June 11, 1928, in Adams Friendship, WI, the son of the late Harvey and Enid (Thurber) Baggs. Norman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his tour of duty he moved to Kenosha and on June 2, 1956, he married Darleen Burns at Bethany Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2004. Norman was employed at Mac Whyte Wire Rope Co. for over 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1865 Junker Ball, Eagles Club and enjoyed spending time with his grandson Zack, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time in the outdoors. Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Forrest) Shivers of Kenosha; grandson, Zachery Shivers of Pittsburg, PA; a sister, Phyllis Tobbler of Nekoosa, WI; and a brother, Roger Baggs of Hancock, WI. He was preceded in death by a son, John Baggs. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13th, at the Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Interment and military honors will be held on Wednesday, March 14th, at St. George Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:00 a.m. for graveside services. Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Norm; our whole neighborhood has suffered a great loss. Norm's smile and helpful advise and assistance will never be forgotten. He was the cornerstone of our area and we will never drive by his house and not think of wonderful memories of him. He will always live on in our minds and in our hearts. He will be greatly missed.
