Marjorie C. VanLanduyt

Marjorie C. VanLanduyt, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Brookside Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marinette, WI, on January 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lester J. and Luella (Sligar) LeRoy. On April 11, 1942, she married George A. VanLanduyt at St. George Catholic Church. He passed away September 5, 1998. She attended elementary school in Marinette until she came to Kenosha where she attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club, she was one of the original members and founders of the C.Y.O. Band, Kenosha Girl Scouts, she later served as co-leader for St. Mark’s Cub Scouts, for 7 years she served as noon-hour supervisor at Tremper High School, a member of the Kenosha Quilters Guild and St. Mary’s Friendly Center. She enjoyed Craft Fairs and Bake Sales. She was an original employee of the Dutch Maid Ice Cream Parlor in downtown Kenosha and joined Cooper-Jockey International as a production inspector. She was proud to be a trumpet player for the Frank Bernardi All-Girls Orchestra which supplied music for many events in Midwest United States. Surviving are her five children, Lee (Cathy) VanLanduyt of Richland Center, WI, Raoul (Cynthia) VanLanduyt of Eugene, OR, Jules (Lisa) VanLanduyt of Sarasota, FL, Renee (Clifford) Galster, Jr. of Pleasant Prairie and Jacques (Theresa) VanLanduyt of Kenosha; her sister, Dorothy Singer of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Kyle, Ravi, Lisa, Sara, Jules, Denise and Matthew VanLanduyt, Aimee (Dana) Casey, Michael (Amanda) Galster, Nathan Galster, Emilie Galster, Melanie (Galdino) Becerril, and Darrell (Julie) VanLanduyt; two step-grandchildren, Maren Lesperence and Ricky Tagliapietra; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Skye, Kerry, Kristina, Abbie, Shelly ,Ryan and Ravi, Jr. VanLanduyt, Alex, Myles and Chloe, Logan and MacKenzie Galster and Tommy, Bret, Cody, Joshua and Adalene VanLanduyt. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7307-40th Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Grandma (gaga) will be forever missed and in our hearts always and forever !!!
