Alan R. Matera

1953 ∼ 2011

Alan R. Matera, 58, formerly of Kenosha, late of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2011, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV, following a sudden illness. He was born on August 3, 1953, at Kenosha Memorial Hospital in Kenosha, to Arthur and Loretta (Stella) Matera. Alan attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated, in 1971, from Mary D. Bradford High School. In 1976 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with degrees in Accounting and Finance. He was most recently employed in law enforcement at the Rainbow Casino in Henderson, Nevada. Alan is survived by a daughter, Danielle Rose of Henderson, NV; his mother, Loretta Matera of Kenosha; his brother, Donald of Kenosha; his sister, Janice (Scott) Oldach of Chicago; several nephews and one great-nephew, along with numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and of his kindness and his loving, gentle spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Matera; his dedicated uncle and aunt, Louis and Rose Sacco; his maternal and paternal grandparents and by numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church form 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
