A. Allan Jankus
A. Allan Jankus, 93, of Kenosha passed away, Thursday, October 20th at his residence. Born in Milwaukee, WI December 16th, 1917, the son of the late Adam and Anna (Banza) Jankus. His family moved to Kenosha when he was a child. He was educated in local schools and a graudate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On February 14th, 1942 at the Chapel at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee he married Isabel E. Mattern. She passed away July 20th, 2006. Allan was an Engineer, also President and Chairman of the Board for Kenosha Boiler and Structual Co. now known as Lakeside Steel Mfg., a family business, until his retirement in 1991. A member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and many local organizations. Surviving are four nieces and nephews; Bernadette (Tim) Longden of Racine; Jeannette (Dennis) Kehoe of Kenosha; Charles (Karen) Southerland and Nancy Southerland both of Virginia; seven great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Nihlson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23rd at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
