Michael A. Molinaro, Sr., 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on August 26, 1920, he was the son of the late Anthony and Angelina (Marucaa) Molinaro. Michael served in the United States Army from October 27, 1942, until his honorable discharge on October 27, 1945. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Battle Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, 4 Overseas Service Bars, 1 Service Stripe, Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Star Medal. In 1944 he married Marcella Lettsome in Kenosha. They later divorced. He started his career at Simmons Company. He was then the owner/operator of MAR-CEL’s Grill. Next, he ventured into the tavern business with his step-brother, Ralph. He owned a horse stable where he trained horses for the Arlington Race track. At this time he also owned Salem Town Tap and Grill for 30 years. He finished his career retiring from AMC in 1983 as an Executive Board Member. Michael was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and Local 72 where he was also a board member. He was a singer on Friday nights at the VFW with the Brass Ball Bangers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horse shoes, and bocce ball. He is survived by his fiancée, Ann Swanson of Kenosha; his four sons, Michael Jr., Mark, Richard (Jacque), and Ronald all of Kenosha; two daughters, Linda Molinaro and Kay Cornell both of Kenosha; seven grandchildren, Monica Gracyolni, Bryanna Molinaro, Gina Molinaro, Janie Cornell, Ericka Jaeger, Bryan Tremelling, and Holly Tremelling; four great-grandchildren; Mason, Dominic, Isabella, and Zaydan; and his former wife, Marcella Molinaro of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-granddaughter, Amy Tremelling, one step-brother and five sisters. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 4th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 18700-116th Street, Bristol, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Scholastica Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
