Jared Emiliano Diaz

1984 ∼ 2026

Jared Emiliano Diaz, a loving husband, devoted father, and a man whose life was defined by service, courage, and kindness, passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 41. More than any accomplishment in his life, Jared’s greatest purpose, and the role he cherished above all others, was being a father. His love for his children guided his decisions, shaped his character, and illuminated every part of his life.

Born on June 6, 1984, in Austin, Texas, Jared was lovingly raised by his late parents, Joe Diaz, Jr. and Adele Treviño Diaz, who nurtured him with steady hands and generous hearts. Alongside his siblings, Leti, Mari, and Bruce, he learned resilience, strength, and the enduring value of family. He loved reading, hiking, and cooking, and he grew up surrounded by the unwavering love of the extended Diaz and Treviño families in the Rio Grande Valley, spending much of his youth with his many cousins in South Texas.

Jared graduated from the Austin LBJ Liberal Arts and Science Academy in 2002. Guided by a profound sense of duty, he answered his nation’s call and served as an Army Medic during the Iraq War. In the most demanding circumstances, he offered not only medical skills but also comfort, steadiness, and humanity. As one friend remembered, “Some people you remember for the battles. Others, you remember because they made battles easier to bear. Jared was that kind of man. No matter the day, the heat, the weight of what was carried, he had a way of bringing a smile. The kind of medic who didn’t just patch wounds, he lifted spirits. The kind of man you were always glad was nearby.”

His military commendations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and the Army Service Ribbon.

After being honorably discharged, Jared continued his commitment to serving others by joining the Houston Police Department, where he served as a police officer from 2014 through 2017. His colleagues remember him as dependable, fair, and always ready with a smile that could lift even the heaviest moments. His was also known as the academy’s go-to source for comedic relief.

While living in Houston, Jared earned his degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston in 2017. He later moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to be near his three sons, Jaxon, Joseph, and Jacob. It was in Kenosha that he met the love of his life, Amanda Diaz. Before family and friends, Jared proposed to Amanda at “Beyond Wonderland,” and the two were married at Kemper Center on Lake Michigan on July 26, 2025.

Jared embraced fatherhood with a full and joyful heart. He not only adored his sons but also lovingly stepped into the role of father to Aidan Bloomer. Their home was filled with the warmth they created as a family, dancing with Amanda in the living room, enjoying bonfires in the backyard with the boys, and preparing delicious breakfasts and grilled meals that became family favorites. His children were his pride, his purpose, and his greatest joy. His presence brought comfort, and his joy and kindness was contagious. He had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at ease, but nowhere was his tenderness more evident than in the way he loved his children.

Jared was preceded in death by his father, Joe Diaz, Jr.; his mother, Adele Treviño Diaz; and his brother, Jordan Kirby. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Diaz; his children, Aidan Maximus Bloomer, Jaxon Jared Diaz, Joseph Oliver Diaz, and Jacob Elliott Diaz; his siblings, Marisela Saldivar (Cesar), Leticia Herrera (Ben), and Bruce Christensen (Melanie); his father-in law and mother-in law, Doug and Edna Bloomer; his nephews, Aiden Presley Saldivar, Benjamin Andrew Herrera (Rebecca), Christian Alexander Herrera, and Daniel Austin Herrera; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who loved him deeply and will forever cherish his memory.

A service celebrating his life will be held will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Proko Funeral Home.  A memorial service will commence at 1:00 p.m. and interment with military honors will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI.
