Robert G. Hamilton, Sr., 72, of Somers, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. He was born on May 29, 1938 in Kenosha, the son of Robert R. and Catherine (Kropp) Hamilton. On September 4, 1965 he married Janet Drissel at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paris. Robert served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He also worked at AMC-Chrysler for 52 years until his retirement on May 1, 2009. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Wisconsin Polka Boosters and a lifetime member of the NRA. He had a love for musical instruments. In his youth he worked in a blacksmith shop in Somers, WI. He also had a passion for motorcycles and snowmobiles. He is survived by his wife, Janet of Somers; his son, Robert G. (Sue Spencer) Hamilton, Jr. of Somers; his mother, Catherine Christiansen of Holiday, FL; and one brother, William Hamilton of Holiday, FL. Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, November 29th, at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
