Marie Kristine Reed, 54, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. Born in Kenosha, WI, on May 19, 1971; she was the daughter of David and Barbara (Johnson) Gates. She attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School. On July 11, 1992, she married the love of her life, Michael Reed at Wesley United Methodist Church in Kenosha, WI. High School sweethearts, they were blessed with 33 years of marriage. Marie was steadfast in her faith and proudly attended Kenosha City Church. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, gardening, her two kitties; Allie and Mr. Bentley, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids who titled her as “Best Gama Ever”. As a registered organ, eye, and tissue donor, Marie’s donations will continue to heal, teach, and inspire, proving that one person’s generosity can illuminate countless lives. She is survived by her parents, husband Michael “Mike” Reed of Kenosha, WI; two children, Melissa (Harry) Mavrogeorge and Matthew Reed of Kenosha, WI; two amazing grandchildren, Harry “Peanut” and Matthias “Marshmallow” Mavrogeorge; her three siblings, Tony (Debbie) Gates, Theresa (Tom) Dorau, and Chris (Heather) Gates, mother- in-law, Mary Reed, and brother- in-law, Claude “Kenny” Reed. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and father- in-law, Clarence “Ken” Reed.The family would like to extend their appreciation to Caitlynn Nugent, Kim Mavrogeorge, and Pastor Andy McGowan for their immeasurable support during this difficult time. As well as the staff at Marshfield Medical Center for their special care of Marie and support of the family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Kenosha City Church from 10:15 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kenosha City Church would be appreciated by the family.

I worked with Marie when we were teenagers and she was always had a fun spunk to her. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing! We haven’t been in touch in the last few years but please know the family is in my thoughts and prayers! She was definitely one of a kind.
