Dolores L. Capodarco, 97, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie. Born on September 13, 1928, in Aniwa, WI, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lillian Czech (Check) Stanke. On October 29, 1949, she married Edward F. Capodarco from Kenosha, WI at St. Florian’s Catholic Church in Hatley, WI. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1985. Dolores and Edward met at a family member’s wedding. They enjoyed 36 loving years together. Their first year of marriage, they moved to Oshkosh, where Edward worked as a printer, and Dolores was a housewife. Later, they moved to Kenosha, where Edward was from. While raising five children, Dolores also worked outside of the home for two grocery chains in Kenosha. She retired from Piggly Wiggly after thirty years. Retired life was short-lived, and she returned to work at Dairyland Dog Track for 10 years. Dolores and Edward were both involved in the Boy Scouts of America, where Dolores served as a Den Mother and Eddie was a Scout Leader. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a prominent member of the choir. She enjoyed golfing, cards, bowling, camping, and time in Northern Wisconsin visiting her 9 siblings and their families. She was the oldest of 10. Dolores is survived by her five loving children, Michael (Rose) Capodarco of Sturtevant, WI, David (Susette) Capodarco of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Thomas (Lisa Graf) Capodarco of Bolingbrook, IL, Joseph Capodarco of Kenosha, WI, and Lisa Capodarco of Pleasant Prairie, WI; eight grandchildren Michael (Julie) Capodarco Sr., Susie (Andy) Bilski, Matt (Dana) Capodarco, Kerri Capodarco, Josh (Emily) Capodarco Jake (Ashley)Capodarco, Caleb (Courtney) Capodarco, Tressa (Kevin) Kolaczewski; sixteen great-grandchildren Michael (Audrey) Capodarco Jr., Emily Capodarco, Isabelle Capodarco, Madelyn Capodarco, Jackson Bilski, Nora Bilski, Maeve Capodarco, Estella Capodarco, Jayda Capodarco, Charlie Capodarco, Cameron Capodarco, Calleigh Capodarco, Caroline Capodarco, Owen Pierce, Sami Pierce, Dylan Pierce; one great-great-grandchild Veronica Capodarco and six siblings, Grace Bubenik, Violet (Robert) Markrof, Mary Anne Heisler, Joe Stanke, Patricia Strevler and Paul Stanke. Former daughters-in-law Cheryl Covington, Debbie Capodarco, and granddaughter-in-law Heidi Capodarco-Maudlin She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lillian Czech (Check) Stanke; husband Edward F. Capodarco; three brothers, August Stanke, Anthony Stanke, and Peter Stanke; and in-laws Frank and Margaret Capodarco, brother-in-law Frank Capodarco Jr, and sister-in-law Margaret Capodarco. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery.
