Cesare Bosco

Cesare Bosco, 88 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.Cesare was born August 18, 1937, in Marano Principato, Province of Cosenza, Italy, the son of the late Salvatore and Rosina (Ruffolo) Bosco. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1953 where they embarked on a new journey.He met and married the love of his life and soul partner Emma Sorrentino on July 13, 1968, in Chicago, IL. Shortly after, they settled in Kenosha, WI, where they started their beautiful family.Cesare and Emma opened and operated Bosco Bakery from 1969-1978 where they shared many laughs, recipes, community, and love. One of his favorite jobs was working on fire trucks at Peter Pirsch & Sons for many years before retirement. His next chapter was one he cherished most; seeing his children grow his family, and helping to raise his grandchildren. He also spent time becoming a bocce champion at Roma Lodge in Racine, WI, a skilled gardener, a master wine-maker, and a well-rounded handy man.Cesare made everyone feel at home and had a heart of gold; he embraced his Italian heritage, spreading love and laughter any chance he could. He always knew how to make someone smile by offering a joke, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. He was a great friend to many and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His most treasured moments were the ones spent at Sunday dinners with everyone around the table enjoying Emma’s delicious homemade meals. He was a steadfast shoulder to cry on, lesson-giver, and best friend. He will be immensely missed by his family and all who knew him.Survivors include his wife, Emma; children, Cesare (Wendy) Bosco Jr, Giovanni (Veronica) Bosco, Linda (Dan) Ruffolo, Luisa (Besford Krasniqi) Bosco, and Francesco (Nicole) Bosco; grandchildren, Nina (Mousa) Abuhassan, Bianca Ruffolo, Dario Ruffolo, Mia Ruffolo, Emma Bosco, Sophia Bosco, Lili Russell, Bruno Bosco, Graziella Bosco, and Gaetano Bosco; great-grandchildren, Amira and Azina Abuhassan; sister, Concetta “Connie” DeBartolo; sister-in-law, Irma Bosco; and niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.In addition to his parents, Cesare was preceded in death by his sister Carmela Filippelli, brothers Gasparo and Silvio Bosco, sister-in-law Frances Bosco, brother-in-law Gino DeBartolo, niece Carolina Scozzaro, nephew Andrea Filippelli, and many friends and family. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church at 12:00 noon on Thursday. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum, Pleasant Prairie, WI.
