Though he was highly decorated, Jamie never sought recognition; his pride came from mentoring others and seeing them succeed.Beyond his uniform, Jamie was a man of warmth, humor, and quiet strength. He loved life’s simple pleasures, catching a Milwaukee Brewers game, perfecting a batch of bourbon with his father-in-law, and exploring new places whenever he could. Although he loved to travel, Wisconsin was always his home. His wife called him “Mr. Wisconsin” because of his deep love for his home state. Jamie loved running. He completed many ultra marathons and marathons in his lifetime. He even finished the Boston Marathon in 2008 and most recently ran in the Wisconsin Marathon in May of 2024. Jamie believed in showing up, doing things the right way, and leading by example. He was the one who could fix anything, calm any storm, and make everyone feel safe just by being in the room. His spirit was contagious, his advice was steady, and his presence was a gift. He leaves behind family and friends who were all blessed to have him in their lives & will forever be honored to know and love him.
