Karen Sue Penrod, 71 years old of Milwaukee, WI passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton, WI. She was born March 20, 1954, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Bailey) Penrod. Karen worked as data entry specialist at St. Catherine’s Hospital and later Kenosha Memorial Hospital before her retirement. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crafting ceramics. In her younger years she also enjoyed cooking and baking. Karen loved cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers and other Wisconsin sports teams. Survivors include her sisters, Janet Penrod and Sheila (Leonard) Bullock; nieces and nephews, Thomasien (Ben) Malsch, James (Stacey) Kidwell, Samuel (Rachel) Bullock, Stephanie (Antonio) Espinoza, Jennifer (Erik) Isch, Alyssa (Aaron) (Dunham) Hatopp, and Erin (Tyler) (Dunham) Feldhausen; and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kidwell. Funeral services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Proko Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, in her memory.
